Breaking the Silence Around Incontinence, NorthShore Adult Diapers Contest Draws Nearly 500 Personal Stories
Participants shared personal journeys of resilience, shining a light on an overlooked population and helping others feel less alone.
(Green Oaks, Ill.) February 9, 2026 –
When NorthShore Adult Diapers asked customers to share their experiences living with incontinence, the response was overwhelming: nearly 500 people submitted deeply personal stories about a condition that affects millions but is rarely discussed openly. The inaugural “You’re Our Heroes” contest, which ran from November through December 2025, invited individuals managing incontinence to break the silence — and they answered in ways that exceeded all expectations.
The submissions revealed stories of challenge and triumph, humor and heartbreak, and everything in between. From this outpouring, NorthShore selected five finalists and asked the community to choose the story that resonated most deeply. That honor went to TG, a healthcare professional and passionate advocate for incontinence awareness, who was awarded a free case of NorthShore® adult diapers of their choice every month throughout 2026.
"Every day, we hear from people who remind us of what true courage looks like," said Adam J. Greenberg, Founder and CEO of NorthShore. "This contest gave us the opportunity to celebrate that courage on a larger scale. Reading nearly 500 stories from our community was both humbling and inspiring. These are real people who refuse to let incontinence define them, and that goes to the heart of our mission: empowering people to live with the freedom and dignity they deserve."
A Winner Who Champions Others
Grand prize winner TG is a nurse who has made it a personal mission to help patients discover high-quality incontinence products and break down the stigma surrounding the condition.
"There's a huge need in the patient population I care for, and many don't even know that high-quality diapers even exist," TG shared in the winning entry. "I try to champion an open attitude regarding incontinence so we can continue to destigmatize the condition piece by piece... A little bit of kindness can go a really long way, whether that be to yourself or to others. Be kind, be bold, and be you."
Voices from the Community
The five finalists were selected by NorthShore's team from the pool of submissions, with the winner chosen by community vote. Their stories reflect both the diverse experiences of those managing incontinence and the transformative impact of finding the right support.

JD, a father and coach, described how his perspective shifted after seeking mental health support: "I realized that MegaMax® adult diapers are not why I can't, but why I CAN, they put me in control… Diapers no longer give me shame, they give me confidence. No one knows what you are wearing; they know what you are doing."
-
Chris, who lives with autism and incontinence, reflected on the journey to self-acceptance: "I'm not defined by incontinence. I'm not defined by autism... I am defined by the fact that I've kept going even on the days that were difficult and invisible to everyone else. There is nothing wrong with needing help. There is nothing weak about wanting comfort. And there is nothing to be ashamed of in being human."
-
Esther, a mother caring for her son with cerebral palsy, shared how NorthShore products have opened up new possibilities for their family: "Having spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, he has many nos in his life — and that is why we fight for as many yeses as possible. NorthShore makes that fight easier... Currently, thanks to NorthShore, our son looks forward to going on long daily walks, trips to state parks, and future, bigger plans... This is what life is all about."
-
Caleb offered practical wisdom for others on the same journey: "People pay a lot less attention than you'd think... When in doubt, MegaMax® it out. You aren't alone in this."
